Geekvape Zeus X RTA Preview – Upgraded Zeus Dual

The Zeus X RTA By Geekvape Previewed

zeus x poster

The Geekvape Zeus X RTA is the newest and apparently last release in the Zeus range. I accept it from AVE40.COM for a honest comment.

The Zeus product range started with the Single Coil original Zeus RTA and then a dual coil version – the Zeus Dual RTA was released.

zeus x components

Geekvape market this range as being “Leak Free”. I don’t think you can guarantee that but the fact that the airflow comes in through the top of the tank helps to avoid the prospect of liquid leaking through the airflow inlets.

The Zeus X is designed for “RTA Enthusiasts” and is apparently an upgrade to the Dual based on suggestions and feedback received.

Zeus X RTA

So again the airflow comes in through the top, travels down and enters the deck at the side of the coils via the removable chamber assembly.

Zeus X RTA

You can of course still adjust the airflow to your preference too.

zeus x top fill

An improved top fill cap is provided with larger ports and a ledge to help prevent spills when refilling.

The deck is for dual coils – possibly could work with a single coil too if the airflow is set correctly.

zeus x deck

Below the coil posts are open sides to allow you in theory to be able to trim the ends of the coil legs. But this looks a bit tight if I am honest.

Zeus X RTA

The standard format tank has 4.5 and 3.5ml glass options – both included in the kit. However if you are in the EU you will only get 2ml options due to the TPD regulations.

Here is a slightly strange introduction video from Geekvape – try not to put your RTA in a drill…

zeus x colours

There are 6 colours available – Blue, Gunmetal, Rainbow, Stainless Steel, Red/Black and Black.

Kit Includes

  • Geekvape Zeus X RTA
  • Spare parts pack
  • Coil (Ni80 – 0.4ohm) x2
  • 810 drip tip
  • Spare glass (3.5ml)
  • Hex wrench
  • Triangular tool
  • Feather cotton x2
  • User manual
zeus x kit contents

Geekvape Zeus X RTA Specs

  • Size: 25×47.8mm
  • Capacity: 4.5ml / 3.5ml (Standard), 2ml (EU)
  • Top fill
  • Top and Top to side adjustable airflow
  • Detachable inner chamber

This could be a great RTA if they have perfected the original Zeus design!

Joyetech eVic Primo Mini Review

Joyetech Atopack Penguin Review – Club Penguin

Joyetech eVic Primo Mini Review

Joyetech , a leading electronic cigarette producer, unveils a more compact version of its eVic Primo box  , logically called eVic Primo Mini, which runs on a single 18650 battery . Here is the Vaping Posttest .

A disappointing finish

To the eye, we are a little disappointed. The finish does not seem at the level of his big sister. The carbon coating seems to be easily damaged. The buttons, the fire especially, are noisy and very plastic. Finally, the plastic battery door located under the box has play when it is loosened. Too bad for Joyetech not to have gone to the end of the concept by combining impeccable quality as for the eVic Primo, because the rest of the box is excellent.

Very pleasant grip

The rounded edges of the eVic Primo Mini give it an excellent grip. With 80 mm high and 39 wide, it fits perfectly in the palm of the hand. You can also walk around your pocket without distorting it. Its width of 25 mm allows it to accept large atomizers without visually shocking. Finally its weight of 86 g makes it very pleasant to handle.

On the top of the box Joyetech, we find the screw 510, which is finally spring. Finally Joyetech listened to its customers! Next to it is a very discreet “Joyetech eVic Primo Mini” engraving.

In frontage, we notice a slight stall between the clearomiseur and the box. The fire button rectangular shape is wide, so easily found with the thumb or index. Below, there is a new larger OLED screen, with 1.3 inches diagonal, a performance for the size of the box. It is protected by a curved plastic shell, a very average finish. At the bottom, there are the + and – buttons, as well as the micro USB port that allows you to quickly recharge in 2 A or upgrade the chipset.

Technical Review

Technical specifications of the Joyetech Primo Mini eVic

  • Length: 39 mm
  • Width: 25 mm
  • Height: 80 mm
  • Weight without battery (s): 86 g
  • Battery : a 18650 battery (not supplied)

  • Maximum charging current: 2 A
  • Maximum discharge current: 25 A
  • 1.3-inch OLED display
  • Connection: 510 on spring
  • Micro USB port: yes
  • Materials: stainless steel
  • Origin: China

The eVic Primo Mini kit includes:

  • An eVic Primo Mini (battery not supplied)
  • A sticker
  • A micro-USB cable
  • A multilingual manual including French with its warranty card

The battery door is plastic and has play

The 18650 battery is as usual not supplied. It is inserted from the bottom of the box. The hatch has 7 degassing holes. It is necessary to slide the hatch to open it and to insert the battery with the positive pole which will go towards the top of the box. Joyetech has also engraved the symbol “-” on the hatch to locate. Small flat for the flap, which, as said above, has play when it is open.

Joyetech Chipset, always excellent

The eVic Primo Mini works with a single 18650 battery and develops up to 80 W of power. It incorporates the Joyetech chipset version 6.04. Joyetech has already released an upgraded version: 6.06 , which allows setting the power off time when the fire button is pressed. It also displays the W symbol on a white background when the preheat is on.

This preheat is not easy to find. Here’s how to activate it: you have to perform a long simultaneous press on the fire and the + button. There, you access the screen saver function, press +, you access the Logo function, press again + and you finally access the preheat function. Vary the power with + and -, press the fire and vary the time in increments of 0.1 seconds.

The Joyetech chipset is very complete. It offers many vape modes: Power / Bypass / Start / Temp (Ni, Ti, SS316) / TCR (M1, M2, M3). Owners of eVic VTC Mini, Vtwo, etc. will not be lost. We go from one mode to another by clicking 3 times on the fire. In temperature control mode, the chipset is positioned by default on 80 W. It is necessary to click 4 times on the fire to be able to vary the power.

In summary

Positive points :

  • Good ergonomics
  • compact
  • slight
  • Excellent chipset
  • Large, easy-to-read screen
  • Atomizers up to 25 mm accepted
  • Attractive price

Negative points :

  • Very average finish

Our rating: 4.5 / 5 . The eVic Primo Mini is a compact box, light, ergonomic and powerful, suitable for intermediate and experienced vapers. We just regret the rough finish that is not at the level of his big sister or eVic VTwo Mini, which may explain its affordable price.

Joyetech Atopack Penguin Review – Club Penguin

Today we’ll be reviewing the Joyetech Atopack Penguin. The Atopack Penguin comes from Joyetech and is offered in 5 different color variations. Joyetech has been making electronic cigarettes and vape mods for quite a while and with this model they have introduced an innovative coil system that takes a horizontal approach. In this review we will go over the manufacturing quality, flavor quality, power flexibility, ease of use, and our overall assessment of the Joyetech Atopack Penguin.

Review: Joyetech Atopack Penguin

Joyetech Atopack Penguin Review

Manufacturing Quality

The manufacturing quality of the Joyetech Atopack Penguin is pretty good considering the retail price of this device is under $40. The overall design uses aluminum housing and has been made to resemble that of a penguin – hence the name of the device. The ATOPACK cartridge is made mainly from 2 kinds of materials: PETG and silicon, which are health safe, heat resistant and recyclable. The Joyetech Atopack Penguin Kit is an attractive and compact vaping kit that is a good choice for anyone on a tight budget. The Atopack cartridge has a large refillable 8.8ml e-liquid capacity which is large enough to load up plenty of e-liquid to get you through most of if not a full day.

Joyetech Atopack Penguin Color Selection

The Atopack Penguin vape is a great option for both beginner and seasoned vapers. Your color choices are Silver, White, Red, Blue, and Black.

Focus On For More Vape Start Kit.

Flavor Quality

The Atopack Penguin Kit uses an innovative JVIC (Juice Vertical Injection Coil) system. This JVIC system uses a design that allows vertical juice injection into the coil while allowing airflow to take a less restrictive path which evenly vapes you juices. The Penguin has a ceramic cradle built in the coil design, which creates a new approach in producing smooth flavor as well as generating large clouds.

The Atopack Penguin Kit gives vapers the option of using Mouth to Lung (MTL) or Direct to Lung (DTL) vaping depending on the coil you choose – the package comes with 2 coils, the 0.6ohm for MTL and 0.25ohm for DTL.

Power Flexibility

The Atopack Penguin does not have really any power flexibility and is really user controlled with how long you inhale and how long you press down the fire button.

On a full battery charge this thing is actually very impressive and runs off of a max of 50w – the pod system seems to work really good at this level and produces pretty massive clouds. It really seems to have no trouble vaping a multitude of different vape juices.

Ease of Use

The Atopack Penguin is a simple to use device that you shouldn’t have any troubles picking it up and vaping right away with. The internal battery (2000mAh) is charged with the included USB cable. Your e-liquid goes in the top of the cartridge which the cartridge is placed into the bottom of the pod/mouthpiece. The 510 connectors are connected as you place the pod back onto the battery mod part of the Penguin.

To turn the Penguin on you click the fire button 5 times in a row – very standard. Under the fire button there are 5 LED lights which indicate the remaining battery power. To use the device all you need to do is have it filled with ejuice, have battery power, and inhale while you press down on the fire button.

Joyetech Atopack Penguin Straight On

Above the fire button you will see a hole – this is the airflow which is pretty neat to play with actually. Instead of breathing in you can breath out and although this is a bit of a waste of your e-juice it looks kinda cool, like a whale blowing water out of their airhole. Maybe this unit should have been called the Atopack Whale.

The portability of the Atopack Penguin is actually pretty impressive for a device that under $40. The Penguin comes with a 2000mAh built in battery that boasts enough power to get most vapers through their day. The Penguin uses a battery life indicator system using the 5 LED lights to show you how much charge remains at any given time when the device is on.

You can use additional Joyetech Atopack Penguin cartridges and coil units as hot swappable pods, this allows you to carry additional e-juice in a ready to go format. The quick swap system gives you flexibility to change between flavors or draw type without the need to empty and fill a tank or change the coil.

The Atopack Penguin is a pretty compact unit that measures just 26.5mm x 52.0mm x 102.5mm in size and 139.5g in weight.

Overall Experience

In summary the Joyetech Atopack Penguin Kit is surprisingly very good at creating clouds and producing nice flavor for a very low price. It is by no means one of the best vapes we have come across but that was expected, we are however super impressed with the performance and think that this could be one of the best in class vapes for its price point.

One of Joyetech’s latest releases, the Joyetech Exceed D19 kit skirts the fine line between a beginners mod, and a high-performance device. • Versatile coil head options

  • Easy to use

Product Cons

  • Delrin threads prone to stripping
  • Battery life not that great

Joyetech Exceed D19 Review: Breakdown

Exceed D19 kit colors

Build Quality

Available in 5 color options including a plain black, plain white, silver, a black & white gradient mix, and a dark orange, Joyetech has outfitted the Exceed D19 kit with a proper base coat that won’t chip or flake easily. There are no guarantees when the mod is dropped though as most devices are prone to their paint finishes chipping when exposed to enough force.

A 1500mAh internal LiPo battery is encased within the slim stainless steel frame. The construction of the Exceed is pretty solid as is usual with these types of tube mods. The battery isn’t user replaceable which removes the need for any battery door that might wobble or wiggle. A micro USB port can be found on the main body of the mod which allows for charging via any powered USB source. While the port doesn’t support 2 amp charging, the relatively low amperage of the battery means that it shouldn’t take long to top it up when needed.

The D19 tank, like most atomizers, is constructed from a high-grade stainless steel. Unlike other tanks though, the threading on the top cap is made out Delrin. While Delrin is durable enough on its own, it still pales in comparison to the hardiness of traditional stainless steel threads so you’re going to have to be a tad careful when taking the top cap on and off, otherwise, you’ll end up with stripped threads. While the Delrin construction of the entire top cap makes it insulate heat from the coils nicely, providing a cool and comfortable vape, it still would’ve been better if Joyetech focused on overall durability by using stainless steel instead.

Since the Exceed is a tube-style device, it lacks any form of LED display which is used to display remaining battery life. Instead the device uses an LED indicator that frames the firing button which lights up to indicate the overall battery status of the mod. At 60-100% the LED stays lit, at 30-59% it will slowly flash, at 10-29% the flashing speeds up a bit, and the LED will flash frequently when in need of a recharge.

Vapor Quality

The Joyetech Exceed D19 kit includes two coil heads out of the box; a 1.2-ohm mouth to lung that comes pre-installed, and a 0.5-ohm direct lung coil head which can be easily swapped in by threading off the glass chamber and screwing in the desired coil head.

The tank holds up to a maximum of 2ml of eliquid which while not best when compared to similar devices, is still plenty adequate. The tank uses a single slot airflow control ring that delivers just the right amount of restrictiveness with each draw. Despite having only one slot available, the singular slot supports multiple configurations for fine tuning your air flow experience allowing you to get the perfect amount of vapor to your needs.

Joyetech claims that the EX coil heads that come with this kit are flavor oriented, and based on my experience with this kit I’m inclined to believe them. Flavor on the 1.2-ohm coil is intense and concentrated while vapor production is on par for a mouth to lung coil. It’s definitely not a cloud chasing build though, so it’s important to keep that in mind. The 0.5ohm direct lung coil head also delivers a good amount of flavor while upping the vapor production game.

While I’m more attuned to this type of vaping experience, I’ve found that due to the lower resistance and higher wattage output, the contents of the tank depletes rather quickly due to the higher eliquid consumption. Battery life isn’t that great as well thanks to the higher wattage so while the Exceed does support multiple types of vaping, it’s not that well-tuned for a direct lung vape.

The Joyetech Exceed only supports direct output and constant voltage output when vaping, meaning you won’t be able to select the exact wattage you want to vape at. While this isn’t exactly a con for most beginners, those who are accustomed to the options presented by variable wattage mods might find the shortage of customisable settings lacking.

While the Joyetech Exceed is similar to mechanical mods in the way it outputs wattage, one of the main differences is the host of safety features built-in to the mod. The dual circuit protection ensures that your batteries are always operating safely with overcharging and discharging protections which provide a safer and more reliable vaping experience.

With overall dimensions measuring out to a mere 118mm * 19mm, the Joyetech Exceed is one of the more portable tube-style devices available, coming close to the size of larger disposable cigarettes. The minimal weight of 73 grams makes carrying the device around hassle-free and painless while storing the device is equally easy as it comfortably fits in pockets and small bags.

While the 1500mAh battery is more than sufficient when vaping the device with the mouth to lung coil installed, using the direct lung coil greatly diminishes the overall daily longevity of the mod, allowing it to last at about half a day in most regular use cases. While this might be a con for many, it should be mentioned that the battery charges fairly quickly via a powered USB source such as a power bank which makes for an ideal portable experience.

The Joyetech Exceed D19 kit is an unassuming little device with lots of ambition hidden within the design. It’s versatile coil options that let you vape in mouth to lung or direct lung mode make it one of the most promising options for the beginner who isn’t sure what style of vaping appeals to them. If it weren’t for the meager 1500mAh battery that makes for a rather short direct lung vaping experience, this would be a definite must buy for anyone looking to quit cigarettes. But as it stands, if you’re willing to look past the unimpressive battery life, the Exceed kit provides lots of flavor and vapor which is sure to satisfy even the most demanding of vapers out there.

Voopoo Drag 2 Kit Review | Drag series update or back?

Product intro and specs

The Voopoo Drag 2 kit features the dual-18650 Drag 2 mod and the Uforce T2 sub ohm tank. The original Drag was a best seller for a bunch of reasons: it came with the very accurate GENE chip, started the whole rapid-firing craze with its 0.01 sec firing speed, and all of that at a very affordable price tag. That said, it did have its shortcomings, as even 24 mm atomizers were protruding slightly, the battery door had a bit of a play and the paint on the black version was susceptible to scratches and wear.

Let’s see if and how the Drag 2 addresses these issues and how the kit performs overall.

Price: $84.99 (at AVE40)
Colors: Dawn, flame, fire cloud, aurora, ink, scarlet, puzzle, island

The mod: Drag 2

The Drag 2 is a dual-18650 mod that fires up to 177 watts. It comes only in black, but with a variety or resin color options to pick from. I received the “fire cloud” one, which, unfortunately, is my least favorite of the bunch. It still looks good, it’s just that the others look even better in my opinion. Thankfully, the white part of the large DRAG branding on the back of the mod is toned down a bit compared to the original, giving it a more discreet look. And the edges are rounded this time, making it much more pleasant to hold.

The mod weighs 157 grams, around 50 grams lighter than the original Drag. The paint job feels much better too; my OG Drag has scratches all over the place, but it seems like they have fixed this issue now. The magnets of the battery door are very strong, but as with the first Drag, there is a bit of a play there. No rattle or anything like that, but you can move the door with your hand.

The screen is ok; it is clear and easy to read, but black and white and relatively dim. The buttons are clicky and feel like they’ve been also upgraded since the original Drag. Atomizers with a diameter of 25 mm sit flush with the edges, but there’s a slight gap due to the lifted 510 platform. Frankly, I have no idea why they went with that design. It might take you a while to notice, but after that chances are you are going to be annoyed like I am.

Screen info

  • Dual-battery monitoring
  • Resistance
  • Voltage
  • Puff duration
  • Mode

  • Five clicks of the power button to turn the device on and off
  • Three clicks to change mode (Power, FIT, TC — Custom mode can be found in sub menus)
  • Pressing + and – gets you to the sub menu of each mode
  • While in TC mode: 4 clicks to adjust wattage
  • While in Custom mode: 4 clicks to adjust wattage or temperature curves
  • Fire and + locks the device (can still fire)
  • Fire and – changes screen orientation

Menu Options

  • Power mode sub menu: M (Custom mode), SN (serial number), VER (firmware version)
  • TC sub menu: M (Custom mode), Ω-set (sets resistance), F (sets TCR)

The menu system takes some time to get used to, but I wouldn’t call it complicated. The mod adjusts in 1-watt increments, but doesn’t accelerate and also doesn’t round-robin. It is pretty fast though.

The GENE chip is known for its power mode performance and accuracy, and the Drag 2 is excellent in that regard. Temperature control, on the other hand, is meh. As with the original Drag, I found it to have excellent dry hit protection and more or less accurate temperatures overall, but a proprietary TCR numbering and, more importantly, the 80-watt limit in TC are major drawbacks. If you are thinking on using the Drag 2 for temperature control vaping with exotic coils, then you will probably be disappointed. It is fine for MTL style coils though, as you will not need the extra wattage and the default TCR works for stainless steel.

The mod also features FIT mode, which comes with three presets: FIT1 (battery), FIT2 (flavor) and FIT3 (clouds). After playing with it for a while, I believe that the only thing it does is read the resistance and set the wattage accordingly, with FIT1 being low wattage, FIT2 medium and FIT3 high. Voopoo recommends using FIT mode on the Uforce tanks, but trying it on the included coils of the Uforce T2 tank I got an underwhelming vape. They also say that the mode does not apply to rebuildables; I did try it on a 0.7-ohm MTL coil, and I found that it fired significantly higher than what I would like it to. In my opinion, the mode is the definition of hit-or-miss and I found no real use for it.

The tank: Uforce T2

I love the looks of the Uforce T2, it adopts a kind of a minimal design that makes it look more “professional” than your average sub ohm tank. It is around 25 mm at its base, with the bubble glass giving it an extra 3 mm. Putting it next to the T1, I could only see some minor differences. The three airflow slots are slightly larger, and the knurling has been replaced by some carved geometrical shapes, which look much better in my opinion. On top of that, the 5 mL bubble glass looks like a really nice fit, which is something that can’t be said for all sub ohm tanks out there. Capacity falls to 3.5 mL with the straight glass on, but the tank is also compatible with the rest of the Uforce glass tanks that range from 2 to 8 mL.

The tank features a push-to-fill port that’s a tad small; I had to tilt the bottle at an angle to fill it. The drip tip is 810 but the double O-rings kind, and the tank is not compatible with most Goon style 810s. I don’t understand this design choice – I have only a couple of these drip tips and tens of Goon style ones, and I am pretty sure that’s the case with many vapers out there.

  • U2 dual-parallel 0.4-ohm coil rated for 40-80 watts / best: 55-65 watts (included)
  • N3 triple-mesh 0.2-ohm coil rated for 65-100 watts / best: 75-85 watts (included)
  • Compatible with U2/U4/U6/U8/N1/N2/N3/R2/D4 coils

There is also a rebuildable coil (R1) but I think Voopoo stopped producing it as it was out of stock everywhere I checked.

The airflow of the Uforce T2 is much more restricted than the three airflow slots will have you believe. Fully open it compares to the Freemax Mesh Pro with its airflow less than halfway open. For me that’s the perfect amount of airflow, but if you like a super airy direct lung draw you might want to look elsewhere.

The triple-mesh coil produces really good flavor and dense vapor. Voopoo nailed the wattage recommendation, as I found it performed better when fired at around 75-80 watts. It also wicks really well, although it started to struggle a bit over 90 watts with my high-VG juice. Don’t forget to prime it before use; there is a lot of cotton between the three mesh strips and it will take a while for e-juice to reach this area if not primed properly. There was also no spitback or gurgling, and the tank didn’t leak at all even when left open overnight.

The dual-parallel coil was a bit of a throwback, but it remains an excellent mid-wattage coil. Real good flavor and a solid option for using the Uforce T2 with a single-battery mod; as with the other coil, Voopoo is accurately recommending the 55-65 watt range. Outside of that, I’d stick to the triple-mesh coil as it is a better performer overall and will last you a fair bit longer.

Pros / Cons

  • No overhang with 25 mm tanks
  • Upgraded paint job
  • Rounded edges
  • Lighter than the original Drag
  • Fires fast and accurately
  • Different resin panels to pick from
  • Great flavor and dense vapor out of the triple-mesh coil
  • Dual-parallel coil is good for medium wattage use
  • Fully adjustable and smooth airflow
  • Raised 510 platform creates a gap
  • Limit on wattage in TC mode
  • Play on battery door
  • FIT mode is hit-or-miss
  • Tank is not compatible with Goon-style tips
  • Some might find the airflow of the T2 a bit restricted

My biggest gripe with the Drag 2 mod is the gap created by the raised 510 platform, followed by the play of the battery door. If you don’t mind these inconveniences, and if you don’t plan on using TC mode in high wattages, then chances are you are going to enjoy it. It is reasonably priced, houses an accurate chip and fixes some of the problems of its best-selling predecessor. It’s not nearly as groundbreaking as the original Drag, but gets the job done. The pleasant surprise came from the Uforce T2 tank, which exceeded my expectations with its triple-mesh coil. With the kit priced only $10 higher than the mod on its own, it’s a no-brainer.

Digiflavor Drop Solo Review | Is it a Drip or a Gush?

Introduction to the Digiflavor Drop Solo

Today we will be looking at the Digiflavor Drop Solo, a single coil dripping atomiser produced in collaboration with youtube reviewer The Vapor Chronicles (TVC).Digiflavor Drop Solo Review

There’s no denying the original Drop RDA made a splash when it was released last year, gathering an almost cult following amongst dual coil drippers the world over. Almost a year later and Digiflavor have set their sights on bringing the same delight to single coil squonking fans.

At first glance the Drop Solo appears to be a scaled down version of its big brother. Upon opening the box, I was almost doing an impression of a happy seal as I saw 2 different top caps and gleefully clapped.

Disclaimer: We received the Solo RDA for the purpose of this review. All opinions are based on my own experience and road-testing.

Design and Build Quality

The 22mm footprint is petite and kind of looks out of place on anything larger than a single battery mod. I had it on my trusty SX Mini G Class and it was dwarfed by the 30mm atomiser plate. With the addition of the PMMA beauty ring things began to look a little strange.Digiflavor drop solo on mod

It would have been nice to have a stainless steel ring just to keep the aesthetics consistent. However, the chance to break out my Pulse BF Box is never wasted and the Drop Solo looked like it was made for the single battery squonker.Drop solo BF RDA

The stainless steel barrel is well proportioned whilst the PMMA barrel gives a more rugged appearance with its squat profile. I quickly found myself swapping the long drip tip on the PMMA cap with the shorter one from the metal cap and that became my default setup.

Juice Well Depth

This natty little atty boasts a 5mm juice well, which sounds more than ample for a modern dripper. However, I found the Drop Solo to be very, very thirsty in standard dripper configuration. This makes me further believe that the Drop Solo was always intended to be used with a squonker.Digiflavor drop solo deck

Post Type

Digiflavor appear to have simply removed a set of posts from the Drop Solo’s big brother and that’s not a bad thing. The width between the posts and the empty second half of the deck make it possible to place some rather large, complex coils with ease.digiflavor drop solo coil placement

The grub screws are easy to access and hold the coils securely in place. The raised posts boast the facility to trim your coils once they are in place. Sadly, I found that this wasn’t possible when I had a coil with anything more than a single core, as I just couldn’t get purchase on the coil legs with my snips.

Air flow

Looking at the metal barrel first we can see the design lifted straight from the original Drop RDA and why not, after all this is one of the reasons for its success in the first place. I don’t know what else to say other than Digiflavor got it right again. Fully open the draw is not too airy and closed off to a single hole the restriction is just right. The only problem I have and it’s quite a biggy is the sheer tightness of the air flow control.

Even after running some juice around the top O rings I had 2 options: grab a spanner or pop the top cap, reposition the AFC and pop the top cap back in place.

With the PMMA barrel being shorter by 1.5mm, Digiflavor have done away with the top row of airflow but have kept the performance in every respect. The turn on the AFC is smooth and precise, further endeering this top cap and barrel to me.

Whether you opt for the metal barrel or the PMMA barrel I feel that the air flow on the Digiflavor Drop Solo sits right in the Goldilocks Zone!

In a good way I was quite shocked with how thick the metal barrel was and this happy shock extended to every other aspect of this perfectly formed little squonk dripper.

Absolutely nothing about it appears to have been manufactured to a price point. The main thing I’d pick out is the absence of a metal beauty ring seems a little stingy. A gripe I had with the choice of material/colour of the PMMA barrel is that you could see the build-up of moisture on the inside, which was a little off putting to look at.drop solo pmma

I wonder if a solid colour would have been better than the frosted look.

One thing to be careful of is over squonking/dripping. As the air flow holes run pretty much to the top of the juice well I found that holding my mod at an angle regularly led to leaking.

A big plus for me in the design of this dripper is the inclusion of the notches with lock the barrel in place with the base. This allows for confidence that no matter how much you alter your air flow you are never going to alter the alignment of the air flow from the coil. This provides a perfectly fed draw each time.

How Does The Digiflavor Drop Solo RDA Perform?

Dripper Mode

I started using the Drop Solo RDA with the metal top cap and had it in dripper mode. After dropping in one of the included coils I was in performance review mode. I quickly mounted it on my G Class and took a draw, pulled a disgusted face and looked at my mod’s screen. I’d left the mod set at 76w.drop solo wicked

After having a nice long drink I dropped the wattage to 40w…nice. Then 50w…better. 55w, 60w and back down to 55w.

For me this is where my sweet spot was. Obviously, this was down to the coil I was using but as these were the ones that were sent through I thought it important to include this in the review.

Two days vaping in this way did not get tiresome. I tried bakery, fruity and citrus flavoured e-liquids and found the flavour to be rounded and very enjoyable. My only gripe was that I felt like I was dripping far too regularly but seeing as this is a 22mm deck it shouldn’t be too surprising that the cotton needs feeing more often than a 24mm deck.

Squonk Mode

On day three I switched to squonk mode. This is what the Digiflavor Drop Solo was designed for, of that I have no doubts. My Pulse BF has a Samsung 25r 18650 battery and after consulting ohms law I knew the 0.34ohm coil was safe to use. From then on this is where the drop stayed. I played around with airflow on both top caps and even switched out the drip tips to see if it made a difference.Digiflavor drop solo firing

Finally, I had the perfect configuration for me: the PMMA cap with the shorter drip tip and air flow with 4 holes open. The clouds were good, I was using a 70/30 juice but the flavour was where the Drop Solo was really winning. The flavour was consistent draw after draw.

This little dripper sits proudly on my bedside table for daily use and is going nowhere soon!

  • Build quality
  • Choice of top caps
  • Squonk mode is a winner
  • Flavour

  • Tight airflow control on the metal barrel and top cap
  • Can see condensation on PMMA barrel
  • Frequent dripping
  • Leaks if over dripped/squonked

Final verdict

There is no real reason for not adding this little beauty to your collection. The flavour from the included coils was very good and with something more complex installed in the deck who knows what we’ll be greeted with. Just be careful not to be too heavy handed with the liquid, unless you want a juicy mod.

I’d definitely buy the Digiflavor Drop Solo again if I managed to lose it.

Review of boxing mod Sigelei TOP 1 Mod

Sigelei company does not stop “stamping” new devices and almost every month another new product from a well-known brand enters the market.

But unlike its main competitors – the company Smok Tech, Sigelei rarely put failing devices on the market, the majority of their devices pass quality control and due to this Sigelei still, after all these years, remains one of the leaders modostroeniya.

Looking ahead, at once I will make a reservation that Top 1 was no exception, it is an excellent workhorse with a correctly working board. Of course, it didn’t go without minuses, but in this case they are not critical.

But about everything in order, let’s go through the technical part, the package bundle, and afterwards we proceed to a more detailed analysis of the box-mod.

  • Dimensions of the mod: 89 x 55.8 x 32 mm
  • Execution material: Zinc alloy
  • 1.3 inch round screen
  • Power range: 10-230 W
  • Temperature limiting range: 100 ℃ -300 / 200 ℉ -570 ℉
  • Travel Voltage: 6.4-8.4 V
  • Output voltage: 1.0-7.5 V
  • Maximum current output: 38 A
  • Supported battery format: 2 x 18650 (not included)
  • Available modes: POWER / SS316 / SS317 / Ni200 / TCR / Ti1
  • Supported resistance: 0.05-3.00 ohm
  • The supported materials of shopping mall: Nichrom / Stainless steel (316/317/304) / Titanium / Nickel / TCR
  • USB Charging: DC 5V / 2.5A

The mod comes to us in a pretty tin box, identical with the packaging of Snowwolf Vfeng. On the front side of the package we are met by the silhouette of a fashion and the very name Sigelei Top 1. Behind, in addition to technical information, there is a sticker confirming the authenticity of the device.

Package includes:

  • Box mod Sigelei Top 1
  • User’s manual
  • USB cable
  • Warranty card

Impressions of use

Top 1 is a mod with a rather unusual design, I would even say with an “amateur” design, or, more precisely, a “motorist” design. The fashion screen is stylized as a race car speedometer, the rear part of the body is made in an identical style and resembles the supercar logo. Obviously, the novelty from Sigelei will appeal to car fans and enthusiasts.

In the case of fashion there are carbon and chromium inserts, and the first and second ones I don’t particularly quote when it comes to box mods. Chrome steel has the ability to “peel off” after a couple of weeks of use and gives the device a cheaper look. And it would seem that by all the external parameters of Top 1, I definitely “will not go in,” but, paradoxically, everything worked out exactly the opposite.

Initially, having unpacked the mod, I already rolled my eyes and hit my face with the palm, but as soon as I screwed / unwind a few atomizers to catch myself thinking that outwardly, Top 1 suits me more than completely.

The device looks very harmoniously in conjunction with almost any atomizer, whether it’s a tank or a drip. In particular, I came across a bunch of Sigelei Top 1 + Bravo RTA from Wotofo, which by coincidence came to me with a red acrylic drip-type, the color is in color with the back panel of the mod.

In constant use of the device, I spent a little more than a week, referring to this fact, I would not treat this article as a full review, but would rather refer to the “First Look” section. Anyway, I managed to reveal a few points in this box, both positive and negative.

Today we will start with the positive aspects:

  • The first thing I would like to mention in Sigelei Top 1 is an instant response to pressing the FIRE button. According to the manufacturer, the mod begins to “fry” after 0.8 seconds and I have no reason to doubt it. Spending parallels with Smok Tech again, just a couple of days ago the Mag Kit came to me and from the very first launch of the mod, the period of time waiting for the spirals to warm up seemed simply endless compared to the Sigelei box. It was because of the slow response when you press FIRE, a couple of years ago I completely moved to mechanical devices. And although, to this day, the mechanic was found guilty of stealing my heart, I am pleased with the fact that the mods on the board are progressing and do not stand still.
  • Already in that review in a row, I praise the ergonomics of the device and, in connection with Top 1, this is aerobatics. Due to the smooth expansion of the upper half of the case, the mod confidently lies in the hand and does not try to jump out at the right time. Just put a plus, for the lack of sharp edges on the body and the convenient location of the button.
  • For me, the fact that the connector for the box-mod is located in the middle of the case automatically throws the coin into the benefit box of the device. In all the latest releases from Sigelei and its sister enterprises, which fell into my hands, the connector is located exactly in the middle and atomizers with a diameter of up to 30 mm sit on the box like a glove, without overhangs. As the owner and fan of Steamcrave’s Aromamizer RDTA, this is definitely a nice addition.
  • Charging with a current output of 2.5 Amps is definitely plus Top 1 and although most of us use Nitecore and Efest charges, the ability to quickly charge via USB is a pretty nice and useful feature of the box mod.
  • Finally, I will note a simple and clear menu on the display. To exit to the settings, you will need to press the FIRE button three times and then you can change the mode of operation, set the pre-heating settings of the spirals, set the time, and also change the “screen theme”. Simple, convenient and reliable.

Here we come to the minuses of this box-mod, which also have a place to be:

  • The build quality of the box-mod is hardly flawless. No critical moments were noticed, but the first thing that catches the eye when changing batteries is the lid itself. Many people remember the first Cuboid from Joyetech, and so in the Sigelei Top 1, the battery cover in the open state reel like a tumbler. I did not notice any backlash in the closed state, but how long this lid will last is unknown.
  • Without looking at the fact that the heating up of the spirals when pressing the FIRE button occurs instantly, it is worth adding that the board’s response to the output in the settings menu is sooooo slow. Pressing the FIRE button 3 times to change any settings, the wait for entering the menu can go up to three seconds. Of course, this drawback cannot be called a global problem, but take my word for it, this is simply annoying. Especially when, by inertia, after a second, you click on FIRE three more times and turn off the mod completely. By the way, with on / off delay is identical.
  • I have repeatedly “scolded” the company for large displays in box mods. I have a smartphone, with excellent color rendering and resolution, against its background all these huge color displays in vap devices look, at least, ridiculous and nobody needs fucking. Add to the screen ala “hello from 2007” meaningless waste of battery life, as well as an increased risk of damage to the screen when the mod is falling and you realize that the profit in such displays is slightly less than zero. Vanguey, that by 2019 a “App Store” with applications will appear in the mods.

Without taking into account some errors of Top 1, the mod came out as a worthy device on the board, which stands out from the gray mass of devices with its appearance and work without any special errors. If you are not confused by the design of this box, I confidently recommended it for purchase.

The Karat Pod Starter Kit By Smoant Previewed

The Smoant Karat Pod Starter kit is a new Pod Mod kit following on from their other pod kit the Smoant S8.

Pod mods are handy little devices to have around – for starters or even more long term vapers as they can dish out a nice quick nicotine hit without being bulky or chucking out super size clouds.karat components

With a pod mod you use high nicotine e-liquid or even better Nic salts – so the device can be lower powered and therefore a smaller battery.smoant karat pod range

The internal battery on the Karat pod mod is 370mAh – which is the lower end of average for most pod mods.karat pod in rainbow

There is a constant output of 3.4V and this fires up the 1.3ohm resistance coil located in the pod. The coil is apparently a new style “Quartz” coil which from the marketing images looks to be an almost honeycomb metal structure. The more surface area in contact with the e-liquid means the better the vapour.karat quartz coil

The pod also holds the e-liquid and is refillable via the bottom filling plugs.karat pod

A magnetic connection holds the pod securely in the battery part but is easy enough to pull out to change the pod or refill. Once the coil is past its best you simply discard the pod and install a new one.karat magnetic connection

KangerTech Five 6 Kit Review

KangerTech has had a great career of 10 years as innovators who had brought us some of the best Clearomizers, i.e. the pro-tank series, and then of course – one of the first sub-ohm tanks with interchangeable coils and RBA. KangerTech was pretty quiet in the last few months however to announce the release of the FIVE- 6 implies that the company is not only in the game of vaping, but also look to push the boundaries. As the name already shows, the KangerTech FIVE have the five 15650 batteries and this device can reach a maximum power of 222W with integrated power bank.

First Impression

Recently, however, it seems that Kanger has struggled to remain relevant – definitely for me. Kanger has contributed to my early success of the damage reduction; it hurts me to say that I have not seriously considered a topical product of Kanger with great interest lately. This is changing today. Starting with mod Five6, we have an unprecedented 5-cell 18650 controls (Power-plant) attached to the frame top and aluminum alloy. You need to charge your phone? Definitely! The Five6 would oblige.

Looking at Five6 tank is a feeling such that when looking at a large SMOK TFV8. The same aesthetics, the same flip cover, the same adjustable floor flow of air, with greater capacity of 8 ml.

Coils can be selected by the user and each interchangeable header contains three double coils and can actually select the tank to run with two, four or six coils – with the same screw head arrangement. Oh, and did I mention that the glass containers darken when the temperature rises? Yes, it does well.

The Five6 kit comes in a variety of colors,

  • Black
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue

You could find it more online.

  • Easy access, no leakage, top filling line
  • Construction of a double coil
  • 3 selectable integrated coils
  • Maximum power of 6 coils
  • Smart glass, which changes its color depending on the temperature
  • Selectable coils, indicated by a LED light
  • A patented KangerTech design
  • A large 222W power bench for the day!
  • 5 18650 batteries have a light aluminum frame

With Five6 Kit, Kanger seems to break with this design strategy and reach the most modern Vape for lovers. While Five6 5 cell delivers high power and unprecedented autonomy, it also comes with a charge and the weight of Five6 kit is 255g, furthermore, when the batteries are added, it tipped the scales at about 475g. For comparison, my lost Vape triad weighs 408g fully loaded with three batteries and a dual Geekvape Ammit. An RX300 Wismec similarly configured (not tested) strong 500g. I’m not sure it would consider one of these portable. Each individual “Tiger” coil has three dual configurations and you can choose how many of them want to “open” the Vape – two on four or six. It has a small switch around the base of the tank the number of rollers with small LED light shows to be used to determine which to be activated.

Pros & Cons

Pros Cons
Smart and Stylish Changing the coils with a full tank can be difficult
Define and pleasant finish
Good performance
Good In Weight
Selectable Coils (up-to 6)
No Leakage
Excellent Power Output

Long story short – Summary

I do not know if the actual model can be used with another container if this is not enough, the dark glass containers also change color depending on the temperature of the Vape. While the first five reports on the 18650 configuration show like the real model is extremely easy – not as hard as you might think. The KangerTech FIVE 6 will be available in black, red, yellow, green and blue – I believe that each case can be purchased individually so you can change its color.
